FAQs
If you have a question regarding anything having to do with the 2023 Fall Season or the 2024 Spring season, we are here to help! Please send questions to Gabe Vicuna at
[email protected]
if there is anything you can't find on our website.
Q: Will my player be evaluated? If so, when should my child show up for Evaluations?
Evaluations are for all players in the Upper Divisions (AA, AAA, Majors, 50/70, Juniors and Seniors). Players in Tee Ball, Coach Pitch or Machine Pitch
DO NOT
undergo evaluations. Players in AA will go through evaluations to help prepare them for once they are in AAA. Once you have registered, you will receive an email from our registrar indicating your child's time to report to Memorial Field for evaluations. If you did not receive an email and already have registered your child, please email
[email protected]
as soon as possible to make sure your registration has been received.
Please arrive at least 20-30 minutes ahead of time in order to check in and allow your child some time to warm up. When players do not arrive on time, evaluations run behind. Players will receive a number, be assigned a group to be evaluated and go through a specific set of drills. Be prepared to spend at least 45 minutes at the field.
Q: Do kids get cut after evaluations or will my player not make a team?
No. All kids play in Little League baseball. It is important to know that there are
never cuts
! Simply evaluations on skill sets so that we can strive for parity among the teams. If you are curious how your child was evaluated, mangers are happy to give feedback, though evaluation notes are private and not published within the league. For questions about this process, email the Player Agent at
[email protected]
.
Q: What happens when it rains?
Well, that depends. The City of Santa Monica is quick to protect its fields and the kids that play on them in the event of rain. Check the website for updates on field closures. Games that are postponed due to weather are only rescheduled in divisions that count wins and losses (AA, AAA, Majors, Juniors and up). Lower divisions will most likely not make up rain outs, so try to enjoy the day off! Commissioners often schedule scrimmages, so email them with requests.
