Majors

What is the Majors Division?

  • Majors, while still instructional, is a competitive division.  There are a number of important considerations to understand as you enter Majors.  In Little League, Majors, as a competitive division, has the least restrictive minimum play rules for players in terms of both innings to be played and positions to be played.  It is to be expected that a majority of players on a team will sit out multiple defensive innings per game.

  • Requests are not entertained at the Majors division. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected]

  • The Majors Division will end in a double-elimination tournament following the regular season.  After evaluations, which all players are required to attend, the Division will host a draft.

  • Majors teams will provide an opportunity for each player to be at the field three times per week, with one fixed weekday practice, one weekday game and one weekend game on Saturdays.

  • Required practice and game equipment at this level includes:

    • Glove
    • Cup
    • Cleats
    • Baseball pants
    • Baseball hat
    • USA Baseball approved bat
    • Helmet

*Every coach is provided with league bats and helmets players are able to utilize throughout the season.  If you are in need of any other equipment, please contact [email protected] or your team manager.

Player Evaluations

  • Every player in the Majors division must be evaluated.  Your player’s assigned evaluation time will be sent out to you by email. Please do your very best to keep to the assigned evaluation time.  Over the weekend, our team of volunteers will evaluate hundreds of players.  The groupings are determined in order to efficiently and fairly give each player an opportunity to showcase their skill set.  If you absolutely cannot make your evaluation date, the League will offer a makeup.  However, if no evaluation can be conducted, the player will not be eligible for the Majors draft.

  • Please have your player ready to warm-up at least 20 minutes before your scheduled evaluation time.  Preparation is crucial to give your player the opportunity to perform their best.  Additionally, please ensure that your player is properly equipped to take the field.  All players must come prepared with their own baseball cap, baseball glove, USA Baseball approved baseball bat, non-metal cleats, and athletic support and cup for boys, and batting helmet.  Players will be evaluated on all aspects of baseball including catching, throwing, base running and hitting.

Information About Team Assignments

  • Team assignments in the Majors Division are determined through a draft.   Following the League’s evaluations, the Majors Commissioner along with the League’s President, Vice President and Player Agent will determine which evaluated players will be draft eligible.

  • Following the draft, you will get an email with a team assignment from your team’s manager.  Please know that our entirely volunteer League staff is working as quickly as possible to finalize teams to get the kids on the field.

Mandatory Team Meeting

  • Per Little League rules, your team’s manager will schedule a team meeting before practices begin. Players and parents must attend to discuss expectations for the upcoming season and review and sign codes of conduct.

  • Uniforms will be handed out before the first game.
