2025 SMLL Spring Baseball

Welcome to Santa Monica Little League Registration!

SMLL has been a fixture in the Santa Monica community for 75 years, and we are thrilled to welcome you back out to the field! On behalf of the SMLL, players, coaches, current families, Board of Directors, and all of our volunteers - we are thrilled to welcome you back onto the field.

Registration is open to all kids ages 4-16 who want to play Little League Baseball. Please know that your child's experience will be most successful when he or she is placed in the best possible division based on their age and ability. The age ranges are suggested for guidelines only.

Registration for Santa Monica Little League requires you to register your child based on their "league age". For players playing AAA, Majors and Juniors, Santa Monica Little League will determine team and division placement based on skill evaluations held in late January/early February. THESE TEAMS ARE DETERMINED BY A DRAFT AND DO NOT CONSIDER COACH REQUESTS, TEAMMATE REQUESTS OR SCHEDULE REQUESTS FOR PARITY. We will try to get you team and schedule information as soon as possible.

Fees for this season are as follows:

As we are a volunteer run organization, we are so grateful for and dependent on your support to help our season run smoothly. We kindly ask that you consider volunteering your time as Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Snack Shack Volunteer or Special Event Volunteer. If you are unable to do so or do not meet your volunteer requirements, you will be charged a non-volunteer fee at the end of the season and ineligible to register for subsequent seasons until that fee is paid.

Division Play

There are eight divisions for the 2025 Spring Season, divided into Lower and Upper levels.

Lower division teams are organized differently than the upper divisions, with an emphasis on playing with friends, familiar coaches, and developing a love for the game. Upper division teams are determined by a draft conducted by coaches for AAA, Majors, and Juniors. All teams are determined with your player's best interest and safety in mind! If you have any questions about team placement, please email the Player Agent.

Lower level divisions include Tee Ball (ages 4-5), Coach Pitch (age 5-6), and Machine Pitch (age 7-8).

Upper-level Divisions require a player evaluation with players placed into the appropriate divisions by Little League evaluators. These divisions include AA ((ages 8-10), AAA (age 9-11), Majors (age 10-12), Juniors (13-14), and Seniors (age 15-16).

* If your child is league age 8 in a lower division and you would like for him/her to be evaluated, please email the Registrar to request a time.

Little League is available to all families, and scholarships allow us to provide this opportunity to every child who wants to play. If your family is in need of assistance, please contact our Treasurer.

For example, if your child was born on September 1, 2012, they are league age 12; if they were born on August 31, 2012, they would be league age 13.
